Cops: Woman Drove Drunk in Southeast

She was released pending a future court appearance.

A 20-year-old Mount Kisco woman is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated after a recent arrest in Southeast.

Troopers from the Southeast Barracks of the New York State Police stopped Olguita Y. Duarte Chacon at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Routes 22 and 312.

The defendant was released pending a future court appearance in Southeast Justice Court.

How do you know she is illegal? The article doesn't say that. I do agree that drunk drivers are risking my life. But the judges need to stop letting them back on the street. Stricter fines and more jail time to start discouraging people from drinking and driving. Police officers arrest them and the judges let them back out.

Did you READ the blog? Geez, just a guess. Betch I'm right. Not a lot of AMERICAN CITIZENS are naming their kids this.

Hi Sheri, thanks for writing. What the police did tell us was that Ms. Chacon has been charged with a DWI. They did not inform us of her status as a citizen, one way or another. In regard to the story, have you noticed an uptick in drunk drivers during your time in the area?

Kevin, I've only lived here about 8 years and the DWI's in this area seem pretty high compared to when I lived in the Bronx and Northern Dutchess county. I guess it's all the lakes in the area?

I thought I was the only one thinking there is a disturbingly high number of DWI arrests. Granted a number of them are happening on 84 and it is our Troopers who are making the arrests but there seems to be a number on our town roads. All are upsetting but the ones that are happening during the daytime hours are even more terrifying to me. This is when my family is out there on the roads and when the schools are getting out. I just don't understand people that do this.
