Daylight DWI Arrest

New York State Police from the Brewster barracks charged a Pawling, NY man with drunk driving at 12:05 p.m. July 22.

Troopers were dispatched by Putnam County 911 to investigate an erratic vehicle reported to be traveling on State Route 22.  The suspect vehicle was located at the intersection of Route 22 and Route 311.  A Good Samaritan was out with the vehicle, trying to prevent the driver from leaving.  The driver exhibited clues that indicated that he was intoxicated, police said.

He provided police with a positive breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Contentof .31 percent, just shy of four times the legal limit of intoxication, police said.

The 51-year-old was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

He was ordered to appear in Patterson town court Aug. 14.
