A 50-year-old Carmel man is facing a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief after he allegedly dropped a heavy piece of equipment onto a vehicle, officials say.
Officers Thomas Raffaele and Michael Sheil arrested Pietro Grioli at about 1 p.m. on Thursday, according to Carmel Police. He was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with a 22-year-old female acquaintence of a relative. She reportedly lived at Grioli's residence.
"Mr. Grioli threatened to drop a three-ton jack on the female victim’s vehicle if she didn’t move out of the apartment," officials said. "Mr. Grioli followed through with his threat and damaged the victim’s car."
Cops charged Pietro with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. Authorities released the defendant following arraignment before Carmel Town Justice Joseph Spofford.
Grioli is due in court Oct. 15. Officials did not include additional specifics.
