Good Deed Has Repercussions: Police Blotter

A good samaritan found a wallet at a gas station in Kent NY and turned it into state police last week.

Police, checking the wallet for the ID of the owner, found what they termed "drug evidence."

Now the owner, Edward F. Albertario, a 19-year-old Carmel resident, faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, a felony, and 7th Degree, a misdemeanor.

The wallet is open to public search once it hits the ground. A 5th degree felony charge indicates something pretty bad was found, usually an opiate packaged for sale. I'm curious why the PD don't provide full details here. Chances are if your kid knows this kid, then your kid is up to no good too.

just saying.....yes it is open for search, but only if it was found by police on that person. it went through how many hands ? was not found on the person !
