Local Man Arrested After Tool Burglary

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a 23 year-old Southeast man on charges stemming from the reported burglary of a storage building.

In February of this year, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a local resident reporting that his storage building had been unlawfully entered and tools, valued in excess of $2,000, were stolen.

The investigation was assigned to Investigator John Alfano of the Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation. As a result of his probe, Thomas Patrick McCabe of 790 Route 312 was arrested. Mr. McCabe was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, a felony.
