State Police: Man Struck by Car in North Salem, Sustains Serious Injuries

The accident on Route 22 is being investigated Friday afternoon.

A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car on Route 22 in North Salem around 2:45 p.m. Friday afternoon, New York State Police confirmed to Patch. 

The man, whose identity police have not identified, was walking on the northbound side of Route 22 near the intersection with Whip Mill Lane. Police said he sustained serious injuries.

Police said the vehicle was traveling on the northbound side of the two-way road when it struck the man who was walking on the northbound side. Police could not release any more details about the man or how the accident occurred. 

The accident is still being investigated and the road is temporarily closed while police investigate. 

The Croton Falls Volunteer Fire Department, New York State Police and the North Salem Police Department responded to the scene.
