Police: Man Charged With Weapons Possession After Accidentally Shooting Family Member

The information was provided by New York State Police and does not indicate a conviction.

State troopers in Southeast arrested a Florida man after he accidentally shot a family member in the elbow, police said.

Joseph Giardina, 69, of Naples, FL, came to Southeast to visit family and brought with him a recently purchased handgun that was not registered in New York State.

Giardina was showing the new handgun to a female family member when it discharged. The woman was taken via ambulance to Danbury Hospital for medical attention.

Giardina was arraigned before Patterson Town Justice Anthony R. Molé and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and second-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor. He was released without bail pending a return to Southeast Town Court in January.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
