A Patterson man is facing three misdemeanors following an arrest last week near the line for the Town of Southeast.
Deputy Sheriff Edward Kennedy arrested Francisco P. Pironti, 23, around 3:45 a.m. Saturday, according to a Tuesday press release from the . Kennedy was on patrol when he saw a driver speeding before he subsequently hit a telephone pole on Doansburg Road in Patterson, police say.
Kennedy stopped the driver, Pironti, and found him to be intoxicated, according to officials.
"As the deputy attempted to arrest Pironti, the man physically struggled with the deputy," the release states.
The altercation led to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. Pironti is also facing two other misdemeanor charges: driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment. Officials released the defendant, who is due in Town of Patterson Court on Thursday.
