Overturned Tractor-Trailer Slows Traffic on I-84

It happened around 7:50 Thursday morning.

Local emergency responders, including members of the  (BFD) and the New York State Police, headed to the scene of an accident on eastbound Interstate 84 (I-84) in Southeast Thursday.

The crash, which involved an overturned tractor-trailer, happened at about 7:50 a.m. near Exit 20. BFD First Assistant Chief Bill Rieg said the vehicle—which was carrying watermelons—came from northbound Interstate 684 before making "too fast" of a turn onto I-84 via exit 9E.

Four people sustained minor injuries. They were transported to via ambulance.

An hour later, crews were working to clear the area, and traffic—which was backed up for several miles— was being diverted around the accident via the right lane. was on the scene.
