Sheriff: Southeast Teen Faces 2 Counts of Grand Larceny

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

A resident's complaint to police that she noticed unauthorized withdrawals from a bank account has led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Southeast resident.

According to a report from the , police began their investigation into the complaint on Jan. 27, with Investigator James Babcock taking the lead. Officials say that the money was taken from the account using a debit card. 

The probe by authorities led to Kimberly Gallo-Kappus, of Route 22, who is facing two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. The defendant was arraigned before Southeast Town Justice Richard Vercollone. She was released without bail, and is due in court today.
