Southeast Woman Accused of Punching Adult Daughter in Front of Child

A 44-year-old Southeast resident is facing misdemeanor charges after she allegedly punched her adult daughter in the face—in front of a young child—during an argument, according to officials.

Deputy Andrew Kristan of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested the woman after responding to a 911 hang-up call at an Old Mine Road residence at about 8:30 a.m. Friday.

"Upon arrival, the deputy encountered a 25-year-old female victim who was bleeding from the nose," authorities said in a statement. "The victim advised the deputy that she became involved in a dispute with her mother, during which the mother punched the victim in the face, thereby causing the injury. The victim further reported that the assault occurred in the presence of the victim’s young child."

Kristan identified the suspect, who was not there when he arrived. He later located her and arrested her on two misdemeanor charges: endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree assault. She was arraigned and sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash or $4,000 bond bail, pending a future appearance in Southeast Justice Court.
