Spill on I-84 Causes Major Delays

An accident on Route 312 also led to backups in the area.

An accident, reportedly involving a tractor-trailer, occurred at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and led to a fuel spill in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84, near exit 19 in Southeast.

Responders, including State Troopers and members of the , reportedly had the spill contained shortly after 2 p.m. At that time they were continuing to clear the scene. Traffic headed in that direction, which was backed up for a couple of miles, was at a standstill, with spurts of movement at about 10 mph.

Additional information was not immediately available.

By the time I got through to Route 312 (I was stuck in traffic on eastbound 84), that accident had been cleared. I will follow-up on it and let you know if I hear anything about injuries.
