State Police Seek Suspect in Somers Bank Robbery

State police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with Tuesday afternoon's bank robbery in the Baldwin Place section of Somers.

Here's the statement officials released Tuesday evening:

"The New York State Police in Somers are seeking the public’s assistance to help identify a subject implicated in a bank robbery that occurred this afternoon, November 19, 2013, at approximately 3:30 p.m. The incident took place at the Chase Bank, in Baldwin Place, New York. The subject entered the bank, displayed a black handgun, and demanded U.S. currency. The suspect is believed to be in his mid-thirties described as a light skinned white male, unshaven, with poor oral hygiene, and a slender build. The suspect was wearing what appeared to be an Adidas black colored wind jacket with white stripes down the sleeves, dark colored footwear and a baseball cap. The subject fled on foot in an unknown direction of travel."

Officials ask anyone with information to immediately contact the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Somers at 914-769-2600.
