A Peekskill man who was previously convicted of drunken driving is facing misdemeanor and felony charges following a recent arrest in Putnam, officials say.
Troopers from the Stormville barracks of the New York State Police stopped Kevin M. Valle, 34, around 2:40 a.m. Saturday on Route 6 in Carmel, after he allegedly crossed over the double yellow line.
Authorities say Valle's license showed a requirement for an ignition interloceking device—which the 2006 Volkswagon he was driving lacked—and he reportedly told police about the prior conviction. Details on that conviction were not available Monday afternoon.
Officials charged Valle with two infractions and felony driving while intoxicated, as well as circumventing an interlocking device, a misdemeanor. They say his blood-alcohol level was 0.12. The legal limit is 0.08.
Valle was released to a third party, pending an appearance in Southeast Justice Court this week.
