Troopers: Carmel Woman Steals Debit Card from Blind Landlord

A 37-year-old Carmel woman is facing misdemeanor and felony charges after she allegedly stole a debit card from her landlord and used it to withdraw cash.

Jennifer A. Stark is accused of taking the card Sept. 5 without the owner's permission, according to police. She then reportedly conducted two ATM withdrawals—one for $40 and another for $200.

State troopers from the Southeast barracks arrested her Tuesday evening. She's facing two counts of misdemeanor petty larceny and a felony charge of fourth-degree grand larceny.

Following arraignment before Town of Kent Judge Kevin Douchkoff, Stark was sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $1,500 cash bail. She is due Carmel Justice Court today (Monday, Sept. 16).
