A 23-year-old Waterbury, CT man is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated after state police stopped him for traveling at 120 mph on Interstate 684, officials say.
Troopers from the Somers barracks stopped the man, who was driving a 2012 black Dodge Avenger, at about 6:45 a.m. Saturday in the Town of Bedford, after they measured his speed.
"During the traffic stop it was apparent that [the driver] had been drinking alcohol," authorities said, adding that the man's blood-alcohol level was 0.10 percent. The legal limit is 0.08.
Police released the man pending an appearance in Bedford Justice Court Thursday.
