A New Jersey man who was reportedly standing on the shoulder of an Interstate 84 (I-84) ramp in Southeast died Wednesday after he was struck by a vehicle, officials said.
Authorities at the identified the driver of the vehicle as a Connecticut woman. They would not release further information about identities, or details of the incident, late Wednesday night.
The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the ramp for Exit 21 on I-84 westbound, according to a New York State Department of Transportation alert. A second alert at about 2:50 p.m. notified residents that the ramp would be closed for four hours while police investigated.
