Troopers: Putnam Lake Man Charged with Auto Stripping

A 36-year-old Putnam Lake man is accused of damaging a vehicle by removing parts and dumping cigarette ashes and beer inside of it, according to police.

Troopers from the Southeast barracks arrested the man Saturday and charged him with third-degree auto stripping, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. He's accused of removing the brake lamp bulbs and oil dip stick from the victim's vehicle, as well as pouring beer and cigarette ashes in the interior.

The defendant is due Monday in Patterson Justice Court.
