A 19-year-old from New Fairfield, CT is facing misdemeanor drug charges following the discovery of about 194 grams of high-grade marijuana during a traffic stop, according to police.
State troopers from the Southeast barracks say they pulled over the teen Friday after observing him travel at about 90 mph in a 65-mph zone on Interstate 684.
In addition to the pot, police also found the defendant to be in possession of "numerous items of drug paraphernalia."
Officials charged the teen with one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors. He's also facing a speeding offense.
The defendant posted station bail. He is due Thursday in the Southeast Justice Court.
