Two Injured in Crash on I-84 in Southeast

Officials closed the roadway at Exit 19 in Southeast for about an hour and 15 minutes.

One person was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center and another transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital after a vehicle crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer Wednesday night, according to officials.

The injuries were non-life threatening, police and firefighters said. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

The accident occurred at about 8:15 p.m. near Exit 19 (Route 312) on westbound Interstate 84 in Southeast. Officials closed the roadway there for about an hour and 15 minutes.

Members of the Brewster Fire Department responded, along with firefighters from Carmel, Patterson and Putnam lake. State troopers from the Southeast Barracks and East Fishkill barracks were there, too.

Additional information was not available at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
