Crossroads 312 on Thursday's Town Board Agenda

The Southeast Town Board will discuss the Crossroads 312 proposal—which originally called for a seven-story hotel and shops—again Thursday (Aug. 22).

Town board members will deem the project's Preliminary Draft Environmental Impact Statement (pDEIS) complete or incomplete at Thursday night's meeting.

Planners presented details of the Crossroads 312 project to the Southeast Town Board in July 2012. Officials previously ruled the pDEIS incomplete. The applicant's latest version was submitted last month.

"The proposed plan reduces the size of the retail portion of development by 40-percent and eliminates the proposal for a 200-room hotel," the document states, later noting that a four-story hotel could be viable. "A single level development of 3,000 SF± bank, 7,000 SF± free standing restaurant and 176,000 SF± retail personal or professional services is proposed."

The project would be built on about 52 acres of land on Route 312, near exit 19 of Interstate 84. It would require a change in zoning, from rural commercial to highway commercial.

Thursday's meeting will take place in the civic center at 1360 Route 22. It starts with an executive session at 6:30 p.m. The work session will begin half an hour later, with regular business directly following.
