Greg Ball: No Endorsements Given for Brewster Mayoral Election

Two candidates, Richard Allen and incumbent Jim Schoenig, are running for Village of Brewster mayor.

Conversations on Patch have claimed some elected officials in the area—including State Sen. Greg Ball (R, C — Patterson)—are backing certain candidates.

Here's what Ball told Patch when asked about possible endorsements for the village mayoral race:

"As a rule I have learned to stay out of local elections," he said in an email. "It is very rare that I get involved. Neither candidate has met with me formally, or asked for my endorsement. None has been given."

Allen is a registered blank whose views tend to be conservative. He is running on the Bulldog Party line, which former mayor John Cesar ran on. Schoenig, a registered Republican, is running on the Better Brewster line.
