Putnam Native Plans to Run for County Legislature

John R. McCarron, a Putnam County attorney and legal technologist, has announced his candidacy for the District 6 seat on the Putnam County Legislature.
Roger Gross, former councilman for the Town of Southeast and former trustee for the Brewster Board of Education, currently holds the position. He was appointed in January 2012. The district represents most of Southeast.
“I am excited to help the county that I love continue to be the best place to live in New York State. How we govern locally has a profound effect on our lives," McCarron said in a recent press release. "Putnam County is a very special place.  I’m proud of the fact that I was born and raised here. I think it is the perfect place to live. I want to maintain that baseline and make it even better for the generations to come.”
Here is some more information about McCarron, as provided in the release:

McCarron’s campaign will emphasize a common sense and balanced approach to governing. Reducing the tax burden on residents, sharing sales tax revenue and leveraging technology to make our county more efficient are just a few of the issues John is passionate about. And John knows that by reducing taxes our seniors will be able to live more comfortably within Putnam.

McCarron focuses his law practice locally, dividing his professional time between serving clients in our local courts and bettering the practice of law by teaching attorneys how to better integrate technology into their own practice.
McCarron, 37, is a graduate of the Pace University School of Law and is currently a candidate for Masters of Law / LLM in Real Estate Law. John is a past recipient of the “40 Under 40 – Rising Stars” award.
