Putnam Sheriff Comments on Brewster Mayoral Election

When asked about a possible endorsement in the race for Village of Brewster mayor, Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith issued the following statement to Patch:

"As a conservative member of the Republican party, I strongly believe in the party’s principles and values. I support those members of the party running for election and re-election. I truly believe that, in our electoral system, having competitive races promotes integrity, honor and servant leadership and results in quality government for the people whom we are entrusted to serve.

I, therefore, extend to both candidates who are running for mayor of the Village of Brewster my very best wishes for an issue-centered campaign, which will enable the people of the Village of Brewster the opportunity to make an informed decision about the future leadership of their community.

I look forward to working together with the people’s mayoral choice to help keep the Village of Brewster and all of Putnam County safe and great places to live, work and raise a family."
