Several Brewster, Southeast Bridges Featured in TJN [POLL]

The report dubs many of the structures as "problem bridges."

Just like tons of others around the area, Brewster and Southeast's bridges are in need of some serious work.

This story on LoHud.com, written by Ken Valenti, profiles several around the region, including the closed one on Prospect Hill Road in Southeast. The report notes that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is hoping to repair the bridge as part of a larger project to add hundreds of parking spots to the Southeast Train Station. Town officials have yet to approve the plan.

Data on the agency's site shows that the majority of the 35 bridges in Brewster and Southeast are considered "deficient," according to the state ranking system.

Several of them are closed, and officials weighed in on the likelihood of each moving back online in .

not concerned, because they're all closed......the prospect hill one should be the priority, the others don't seem to be wholly necessary

Ditto to babypotato. The bridges have been closed for years (i.e., Prospect hill). the town continues to waste our tax dollars. Such as the useless police force. Out of shape retirees collecting previous pension(s), handing out tickets and stopping traffic in town to check car registrations and seat belts! They're tax collectors! Brand new FLEET of vehicles. And what's with the Volunteer Fire dept's. New Fire POLICE vehicle!?!? What the heck is a Fire Policeman? When will this corrupt little town give back to the tax payers? Rhetorical Question. We all know the answer to that question... Feel free to reply, although I don't expect to receive one. 845-269-8163
