The Village of Brewster is seeking residents to be part of the zoning committee.
According to this post on the Envision Brewster Facebook page, the zoning committee will work with the comprehensive plan committee to help in the urban renewal process.
The comprehensive plan committee was established earlier this month. There are about a dozen members.
The goal of urban renewal is to rid Brewster of blight and deterioration while promoting economic growth and development, according to official documents. The Village recently signed an agreement with Covington Development, LLC that sets forth the rights and obligations for the implementation of the master development plan.
Anyone interested in volunteering on the zoning committee—applicants must live in the village—should send a letter of interest to Mayor Jim Schoenig at:
