Were you surprised when you woke up this morning and saw the snow outside? I sure was! Driving down Route 55 on my way to work the landscape was blanketed with a sheet of snow and I felt as if I was I was in a winter wonderland. Just the day before I was busy planning hikes and this morning I couldn't even fathom getting into the frigid air (I am a warm weather hiker, not a big fan of the cold).
With this erratic weather, I found myself worrying about the conditions for the dog parade that Brook Farm Veterinary Center is participating in, in just a week! This weather just exposes how little we are in control because we cannot change the weather or accidental occurrences that happen to us throughout life. All we can do is live fully, and plan optimistically.
If I were a dog, life would be so simple. They wake up, go to sleep, play a little bit and look forward to the love of their owner each day. Simple life? Right. This weather makes me whimper but what can I really do? Live simply and the weather will take me where it may.
