Bears to March in Dublin's 2013 St. Patrick's Day Parade

Officials approved the trip Tuesday night.

After appearances in the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, visits to Disney World, Citi Field and more, the Marching Band will travel to Ireland for two performances next year.

The band—which consists of about 90 students and is led by Director George Viglucci—is slated to march through the streets of Dublin on March 17, 2013 for the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade. The group will also appear in a parade in Limerick during the four-night trip.

"It's exciting," Viglucci told Patch.

The district's Board of Education approved the trip Tuesday evening. School officials noted that the cost of the trip will be covered by fees from the students traveling abroad, as well as fundraising efforts.

"This seems like the next logical step," Board of Education President Dr. Stephen Jambor said after administrators heard a list of the band's performances, and awards, from over the years.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
