Bears on the Diamond

The below appears on the Brewster website:

4/14/12 — The Brewster Bears lost to the Yorktown Huskers today by the score of 4-3.  The loss leaves the Bears record at 2-4. Yorktown jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings and the Bears could not solve the Yorktown pitching.

"I thought we could have done a better job of hitting their first pitcher but it didn't happen," said Coach Ed Mulvihill

The Bears did grab a couple of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning when Sean Henderson clubbed a double to right center field bringing in Garrett Longhurst and James Cundari.  Cundari knocked in a run in the following inning to make the score 4-3 but that's a s close as the Bears would come.  "I thought we got a great pitching performance from TJ DelFranco.  He deserved the win today," Coach Mulvihill said after the game.

More Brewster Baseball

4/12/12 — The Brewster Bears lost to the Yorktown Huskers today by the score of 15-4. The Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning and a half but Yorktown owned the Bears the rest of the day.

"We had 8 errors and they had timely hitting to take advantage of those errors," said Coach Ed Mulvihill.  "Put those two things together and it's a long day for us."

The Bears were led by Garrett Longhurst who went 2 for 3 with a double and triple and 2 RBI's. Sean Fitzgerald knocked in the Bears other 2 runs with a double.  "We play them again on Saturday so I am hoping to show improvement from game to game," said Coach.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
