Thanks to the sweltering weather the region is slated to experience this week, will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday.
The beach was originally scheduled to open on Monday for weekday hours. An announcement on the Recreation Department's site alerted folks to the change Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to hit 96 degrees, with heat index values around 100, in Brewster and Southeast Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
