Join the Cultural Arts Coalition for another great show at the Studio Around the Corner, opening this Friday! ‘Hudson Valley Suite’ features landscape paintings by Jeanne Demotses, done ‘en plein air’, meaning ‘in the open air.’ Inspired by the tranquil and natural beauty of The Hudson Valley, it is Jeanne’s wish that these extraordinary landscapes will stimulate others to keep, conserve, and nurture The Hudson Valley for future generations. Join The Studio Around the Corner as we celebrate the beauty we are fortunate enough to dwell in.
For over 20 years, Jeanne Demotses has maintained a studio in Peekskill’s art district. Her current studio is in The Hat Factory where she teaches portrait painting. Jeanne also teaches classes and workshops in Westchester’s Heritage Hills. Jeanne’s primary medium is oil; however, she often works in watercolor, acrylic, pastel, monotype and collage. Jeanne studied art at Hunter College, the Art Students League, and the Westchester Art Workshop. A founding member of Gallerie JJENTH, she was also on the visual arts committee of the Paramount Center for the Arts, and is a faculty member for the Putman Arts Council. Jeanne’s work has been exhibited in galleries and public spaces, and is also in private and public collections both in the US and Europe.
