>via MyGoodDeed

Mahopac residents Carolyn and Jay Winuk were invited guests at the official opening ceremony of the National September 11 Memorial Museum in NYC on May 15 at which President Barack Obama and numerous other dignitaries gathered to mark the occasion and pay tribute to the victims and their families.

The Winuks met there with former President Bill Clinton and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Jay Winuk, a 9/11 family member and president of the public relations agency Winuk Communications, Inc., is the co-founder and executive vice president of MyGoodDeed, the nonprofit which successfully advocated for the anniversary of 9/11 to become a federally-designated national day of service.

“9/11 Day” is now the largest annual day of charitable engagement in U.S. history.  Secretary Clinton has for many years been an active supporter of MyGoodDeed and the “9/11 Day” observance the organization oversees.
