April 14: Jazz Concert, Prom Meeting, Spelling Fundraiser and More

Our five items to keep in mind throughout the day.

1. Cheer on your favorite team at tonight's  from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at . More than 175 people are registered to participate in the event, which is sponsored by Putnam Family and Community Services. The $25 fee covers food and beverages. Trophies will be awarded to the last teams standing and the most enthusiastic cheerleaders.

2. Enjoy an "evening of jazz" with the middle and high school bands, as well as select chorus members, at . The concert will start at 7:30 p.m.

3. Volunteers from two separate areas of the community are slated to get together this afternoon in the name of all things ! Employees from  and members of the middle school's Junior National Honor Society will work from 3 to 6 p.m. at  on beautifying and tidying up the area. Swing by and show your support!

4. The Southeast Town Board is scheduled to meet for a work session at 7:30 p.m. at its . Click here to view the agenda.

5. The sun is on its way out! According to the National Weather Service, Brewster will see mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s today, with a drop to the 30s at night.

Extra item: School officials will host a prom meeting for parents and students at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
