Meet Artie, a Young Boy

He already knows basic commands.

Staff members at the Puntam County Humane Society say that Artie is the kind of dog who will bring happiness to a family.

A 3-year-old boxer/pitbull mix, Artie was taken to the shelter after he was found wandering around Route 52 in Kent. His sweet and playful personality makes him easy to like, according to staff members.

When it comes to obedience, Artie likes to get people involved.  He will often give one paw, then the next before standing up on his hind legs.  It's clear that someone took the time to train this gentle boy, says Vicki DiCairino, the vice president of the society's Board of Directors.

Adopting Artie requires a $150 fee, which goes toward the cost of microchipping, neutering, vaccines and a vet visit.

While Artie and the other animals all need forever homes, the society can always use donations.  Visit the shelter's site to learn more about needed items, or stop in and visit to meet Artie.
