Over the last five years, Reba, a shepherd mix, has gotten to know the staff members and volunteers at the — and she's found a way into their hearts.
Before she was picked up by dog control in Philipstown in June of 2007, Reba was a stray. The 50-pound, senior girl would do great in a home where she can get to know her new family and eventually be her sweet self.
"She has been overlooked so long," Vicki DiCairino, the vice president of the society's Board of Directors, said.

Reba is a calm, sweet dog who enjoys walks. A home without children would be ideal. She is part of the society's senior-to-senior program.
While Reba and the other animals — there are more than 100 of them — all need forever homes, the society can always use donations. Visit the shelter's site to learn more about needed items, or stop in and visit.
