Meet Sandy, an Independent Girl

Her adoption fee is $100.

If you're looking for a low-maintenance companion, Sandy might be the perfect cat for you.

Staff at the Putnam Humane Society say that Sandy is a shy girl who is content on her own for the most part. While she does warm up to people after some time, she has a very quiet personality.

Sandy is a domestic shorthair cat. She has been at the shelter for at least three years, and Amour Du Plessis, the kennel manager, says that Sandy was probably a stray before that.

A home without young children would be best for Sandy, who is probably in her senior years.

Adopting Sandy requires a $100 fee, which goes toward the cost of microchipping, spaying, vaccines and a vet visit.

While Sandy and the other animals all need forever homes, the society can always use donations.  Visit the shelter's site to learn more about needed items, or stop in and visit.
