Who Runs Area Food Pantries?

Most pantries run by churches and non-profits.

The recent on petit larceny charges for allegedly stealing food and other items from the food pantry operated by the town sent shockwaves through the community.

Why would anyone take food and clothing meant for the neediest and most vulnerable residents?

While it is run by the town, the Harrison pantry accepts donations from the public and local organizations.

Of the dozens of other food pantries in Putnam and Westchester counties, all are run by churches and non-profits that accept donations of food and money from the public and community organizations. Some pantries also receive a small amount of government funding.

Below is a list of just some of the food pantries in the area along with contact information. This list is not exhaustive. For information about food pantries not listed here, visit the Hunger Action Network of New York State or the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley
