AMVETS Breakfast; Brewster Film Festival; Playland

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Brewster and Southeast this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.Here are the details for three great events (click on the links for more information). AMVETS Breakfast Buffet
When? 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday
Where? 4 Fairfield Drive in Patterson
Why go? You'll be supporting local veterans while enjoying a breakfast feast that features everything from eggs and home fries to bacon and sausage to fresh fruit and dessert. Adults are $10 and kids are $5.


Playland Season Comes to an End
When: Check here for weekend hours 
Where: Playland Parkway in Rye
Why go? Playland’s last day of the season is Monday (Sept. 2), so this weekend is your last chance to enjoy the rides there. The fireworks finale is at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at 9:15 p.m. Read more at ryeplayland.org and click here for ticket and parking info

Village of Brewster Film Festival
When? Saturday and Sunday
Where? Oak and Main Street venues
Why go? It's the second annual film festival in the Village of Brewster, and this year's events include "dinner and a movie" Friday (sold out), a food and short film festival Saturday and a full-day of art, films and food Sunday. Visit vobfilmfestival.com for all the details.
