Brewster Public Library Book Sale
When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Where: Brewster Public Library (50 Main Street) in the reading room and on the front lawn
Why go? Find gently-used books that range from biography to fiction to history, plus lots more. There will be CDs and DVDs, too. The Friends of the Brewster Public Library are hosting this event.

Founders Day
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
Where: Main Street in the Village of Brewster
Why go? This annual event will feature all of its regular highlights—craft vendors, information tables, kids activities, lecture, music and more—and then some. Folks from the Metro-North Railroad (MNR) will be there in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Grand Central Terminal. They'll give tours of the Brewster station, which is being recognized because of "its impressive historic station, the long history of rail service there and the prestige of the Founders Day program." And the Southeast Museum will unveil an exhibit that features artifacts and photos from the New York Central Railroad System.

Putnam Lake V.F.W Clambake
When: 1 p.m. Saturday
Where: Putnam Lake VFW (4 Fairfield Drive in Patterson)
Why go? Summer's not officially over for about another week, so head to a local clam bake while the nice weather lasts (the forecast is calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-60s Saturday). There will be plenty of tasty food to choose from—burgers, clams, chicken, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, steamers and more.
