Elks Car Show; Putnam Chorale; Semper Fi Event in Southeast

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Brewster and Southeast this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

26th Annual Brewster Elks Car Show
When? 10 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 25)
Where? Elks Lodge 2101 at 1430 Route 22 in Southeast
Why go? With food, music, prizes and plenty of cars, this event promises to be fun for the whole family. Proceeds will go to Elks charities.

Kayaking on the Great Swamp

Where: Patterson Recreation Center at 65 Front Street in Patterson

Why go? This is the last of four trips by HG Fairfield Arts Center to the Great Swamp, which runs through parts of Putnam and Dutchess. The group will meet at 8:30 sharp at the recreation center and and return by noon. Get up close and personal with the the wildlife and plants that call the swamp home. Semper Fi Odyssey Fundraiser

When? 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 24)

Where? Brewster Hill General Store at 365 Route 312 in Southeast

Why go? Semper Fi Odyssey is a six-day program that helps combat-wounded, injured or ill Marine Corps active duty service members and veterans ease out of military life and back into the civilian word. It touches on everything from self-assessment to career planning to higher education and more.
