Muddy Puddles in Putnam for Ty; Carnival for Antonio

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Brewster and Southeast this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Here are the details for three great events. Scroll down to the end of this article for information on a few more.

Antonio's Gift Fundraiser Carnival
When? Noon Sunday (Aug. 11)
Where? Patterson Fire House (13 Burdick Road in Patterson)
Why go? The little boy who suffered serious injuries—including head trauma—in a Route 22 crash in late June is still recovering. This event will support Antonio and his family as he heals. It's slated to include balloons, bouncy houses, a dunk tank, face paint, games, a petting zoo and more. There will be plenty of food, and the K104.7FM street team is slated to attend, too. Entry fee is $8.

The Muddy Puddles Project

When? 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 10)

Where? Camp Kiwi (825 Union Valley Road in Carmel)

Why go? It's been nearly 10 months since the passing of Ty Louis Campbell, a 5-year-old Pawling boy was battling brain cancer. His parents, who founded The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, are committed to finding more treatment options for childhood cancer.

This event aims to raise funds for that goal while remembering everyone's inner child. All proceeds will go to Ty's foundation.

"Jumping in muddy puddles was the thing Ty wanted to do most when his cancer was cured..." Cindy Campbell, Ty's mother, said. "In celebration of Ty’s life, our goal is to inspire parents to let their children have more fun in honor of children, like Ty, who spend their childhood unable to embrace the simple joys of being a kid."

Events include everything from food fights and pie tosses to mud-jumping, obstacle courses. There will be paint and glitter, water balloon fights and much more.
