Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Patch file photo.

Cuomo passed the safeact in the middle of the night in the backrooms of Albany on a weekend with noRead More input or commentary from the public. He should be thrown out just for that. Now we find he was "directing" the corruption comission? The guy is a corrupt criminal.

Cuomo must go. He has always been dirty. He's never even had a real job, thanks to Mario &Read More Clinton. Vote for ASTORINO.

The astonishing similarities of governing style between Cuomo and Obama don't end with them. TheRead More entire Liberal Left thinks that's how government can now be run. Lie your a-- off, do what the hell you want when you get into "office". To hell with the rule of law - "I'm the new sheriff now." Laws? What laws. We don need no stinking laws heh, heh heh!!!

I have never understood the concept of consumers paying twice as much for produce simply because theRead More grocer asserts that it is "organic". After all, how does the consumer know whether it actually is "organic" or not? He only has the grocer's word for it. I have asked people that I have encountered buying "organic" produce about this, and they invariably look at me like I'm crazy, shake their heads and walk away. As far as I'm concerned, they are the crazy ones.

I bought the recalled nectarines and plums from Mrs. Green's in Briarcliff Manor. I thoughtRead More "organic" was safer but..I guess not. In the garbage they go!

One thing is for sure: this contaminated fruit will not be a total financial loss. If worse comesRead More to worst it will be sold to ship chandlers, who in turn will sell it to ships as provisions for the crews. After all, nobody cares if seafarers get sick or die. I was a seaman for 30 years and have seen it happen many times.

There is a simpler solution to this issue. Maybe it might be best to not make or be in a porn videoRead More in the first place. This is just common sense. The state cannot always protect fools.
This guy deserves his bad reputation.

We should OUTLAW enriched white flour, refined sugar, HFCS, Food coloring, and any other foodRead More additive that adds to the Obesity and Diabetes epidemic that has hit this Country in the last 2-3 decades. If it's a health issue, 90% of the stuff sold at grocery stores should be banned. Including ALL processed foods that our Corporations are making BILLIONS from.
Bryan Harz July 23, 2014 at 04:31 pm
Just because stores sell foods that are bad for you does not mean you have to buy them or eat them.Read More Folks may want to educate themselves on how to have a healthy diet. Spend more time in the produce isle maybe. Same can be said for weed and alcohol. Why do people always want the government to save them from themselves by banning or prohibiting unhealthy products?

In fact, college rape stats are downplayed rather than exaggerated. Colleges hide incidencesRead More internally with campus security and sexual assault committees, rather than notifying the police who would make a public record of the event. Evidentially there is a "Red Zone" where girls are most likely to be rape - between the start of school and Thanksgiving freshman year. Mainly, inexperience with alcohol and not knowing who to trust. Girls NEVER go alone to a campus party, take a friend(s). Make a pack to go home together. Always assume the "jungle juice" punch will be spiked. If offer a water or soda, make sure it has been tampered with. And, if anything happens go to the hospital and the police, not the college security who (1) aren't trained and (2) work for the college who has financial incentive in not reporting and (3) can't send the rapist to jail.

In fact, college rape stats are downplayed rather than exaggerated. Colleges hide incidencesRead More internally with campus security and sexual assault committees, rather than notifying the police and making a public record. Evidentially, there is a "Red Zone" when girls are most likely to be rape - between the start of freshman year to Thanksgiving Break - when girls are less inexperience with alcohol and don't have strong friendships yet. Girls NEVER go alone to a campus party, take a friend(s). Make a pack to go home together. Always assume the "jungle juice" punch will be spiked. If offer a water or soda, make sure it has NOT been tampered with. And, if anything happens go to the hospital and the police, not the college security who (1) aren't trained and (2) work for the college who has financial incentive in not reporting and (3) can't send the rapist to jail. Lower the drinking age back down to 18 years old! Girls need to control their liquor instead of relying on the older 21+ students to provide the "jungle juice" punches that are so common now. Girls don't know the type of liquor, its proof and how much is used in these punches.
Max E Leahy July 18, 2014 at 09:12 am
As a recent college graduate I cannot agree with you more Anne. If we lowered the drinking age backRead More to 18 everyone would be a lot more responsible with with their drinking. By making it illegal to drink at 18, it just makes college students want to over indulge.
