It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

Dons Wife & AR...I guess this will be an appropriate intermission break for me...LOL...IRead More Listened to Dons wife's song link and it is a beautiful song and I listened to AR's song link for the first time and I believe it deals with the inner self’s searching for meaning, but maybe I’m wrong and I’m sure I will hear it from AR …LOL. We know there is a place to debate anything under the sun .I tried to keep my views within current events and activities regarding the NYS Safe Act. I believe in God and also believe in reason and science. I’m providing a song link that shows another way of looking at the inner self and the meaning of life, but I know it’s not the only way….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBVAoc5uzEM.......

I consider Suzanne a beautiful song of love and search for redemption. Extraordinary that such aRead More prolific author, poet, composer, performer could suffer from depression and work through, as one discovers in his works. I think the lyrics, like much of his writings, is layered with meaning, allows the reader to find his/her own personal hook. I love the Jesus references, to me more profoundly eloquent than anything I've read of him in bibles and elsewhere. Yet I interpret the passages a person's search for meaning to life and finding such in the present as opposed to a wishful afterlife. The "perfect body" reference strikes me as very Buddhist. In may of his works, the stories turn to love and the women who "cared" for him, often unselfishly, with a reoccurring comfort in sexuality. The depth has gone much further, in my view, as he aged, often rewriting. He's in his late 70s and still tours, sells out 20,000 seat arenas to an audience that spans at least six decades. I think his "The Partisan" is the consummate anti-war lyrics. Harrison also found comfort and meaning in Buddhism.

to Issy: Quote: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come toRead More destroy, but to fulfill............Mathew 5.17" ------------------------------------------------------------------- Jesus IS the fulfillment of prophecy. As the Messiah, he ordained a NEW COVENANT. Those who claim that the Old Testament dictates are wholly applicable to Christians simply haven't read the NEW Testament critically. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Issy: You didn't read the whole argument. Continue Matthew 5. The new covenant (which actually began with Jeremiah 31:31) is BETTER than the written Law. Jesus begins at Matthew 5:21 each remark with "You have learned that our forefathers were told" and then he goes on to state what the Law says and then what HE says. The Law says you can divorce your wife. Jesus says you can't. The Law says don't commit adultery. Jesus says don't even look on a woman with a lustful eye lest you commit adultery with her in your heart. The Law says you must be brought to judgment for murder. Jesus says you must be brought to judgment even if you nurse anger against your brother. Jesus says: You have learned that they were told: Love your neighbor, hate your enemy, but what I tell you is this: Love your enemies and pray for your persecutors, only so can you be children of your heavenly Father who makes his sun rise on good and bad alike. You took your remark right out of a context that completely invalidated it. Thanks for making my job so easy.

So apparently only you are allowed to spin the bible and allow yourself the godly right of ignoringRead More the parts you don't like, although Jesus was very clear that the Old Testament must be followed (but don't take his word for it)................... The simple fact is that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, yet some Christians, have no problem using the Old Testament to condemn gays............ So according to you if the OT gay bashing and the 10 commandments are not applicable to Christians how can they justify their rabid opposition to homosexuality?

Guess what, climate change is a better, more accurate term than the debunked global warmingRead More nonsense. It's occured thousands of times in the Earth's history. Both sides on this issue can agree on that, can't they? But, IMO humans didn't cause it directly, and cannot alter or stop it. The most critical negative human impact here is simple: too many people! Most of the Third World has NO access to birth control, and the vaunted UN doesn't seem to care. Even China relaxed it's stringent one-child-per-couple policy. Helping people limit their numbers might mitigate this problem. But I refuse to agree w/the Leftists Dems that we are some how to blame. Also, scientists who believe this theory make their paychecks off of scaring citizens, so they're incapable of being neutral.

I commute daily on the Harlem Line. My morning train bypasses the station almost every morning. SoRead More commuters waiting for that train are combined with the next locale train. The train is overcrowded with people not just standing in the vestibules but up and down the aisles. I have been late so often this winter that I am forced to take a train that leaves 30 minutes earlier. When your commute is already close to two hours that extra 30 minutes is a hardship. This,by the way, is never announced on the TV or radio news and you won't find them acknowledging it on the MTA website. We have shared the Harlem line in the past with Danbury commuters due to track problems or accidents. MTA does not run extra trains they like overcrowding trains. I have called the MTA and complained and encourage every commuter on the Harlem who has been consistently inconvenienced to do the same.

They operate a virtual monopoly. When a business has a monopoly they need only provide the bareRead More minimum. The sheeple can bleat all they want but what is their alternative? My 5:37 am train was canceled this morning because of mechanical difficulties. The local ran late.Read More Yesterday's commute was an absolute mess with people standing in the aisles. I second your comment that service is taking a nosedive, to say nothing of the fatal accident of which no one has been held accountable. The politicians are just taking us for a ride.

Running a Saturday schedule on a Friday before a holiday weekend was absurd. I tried to catch theRead More 5:47pm from Grand Central and every car was filled to the brim with standing people to the doors. The 6:22pm had 10 cars and also was overfilled and unsafe. Heaven forbid if this train would have derailed or hit something, there would have been fatalities and many injured. You can't safely squeeze so many standing people when they have nothing to hold on to. Riders pay a premium for substandard conditions, late or cancelled trains and what should be an illegal monopoly. In the northern Westchester and Putnam county areas, we are encouraged not to drive (for a green environment and less road traffic) yet our one and only commuting alternative is the train (no bus service). It's about time our local politicians take interest in this ever-growing issue. I dare any politician to ride the MNR Harlem line for one week and maybe we would get some results.
