Brewster Fire Department has been serving the Brewster Southeast community since its organization over 140More years ago in 1870. Chief Shawn Conrad is the current chief and is assisted by first assistant chief Dave O'Hara and second assistant chief Tom Leather. The fire department has hundreds of associated current and past members. Explorer Post 11 is a member organization of the Brewster Fire Department. Much more information can be found at the Web site.

The Town of Southeast has its administrative offices located in the heart of Downtown Brewster. The building is at theMore corner of Main Street and Railroad Avenue, right across the street from Brewster Station. The old-fashioned facility contains the office of the fire inspector, building department and parking enforcement and is a direct reflection of the city's lovely surroundings. It is also home to the planning department, zoning enforcement and the special districts office.

The Town of Southeast Offices houses the Building and Planning departments, as well as the Zoning Enforcement andMore Special Districts offices. Southeast Parking and the fire inspector also share the building, which was erected in 1886 as the First National Bank of Brewsters.  </p> <p>The Building Department's purpose is to ensure that both local and state structural regulations are met through inspections and the review of permit plans. Permit applicants may also be sent to the Planning Department and the Zoning Board of Appeals. Michael J. Levine heads the department as building inspector.  </p> <p>The Special Districts Department is responsible for the handling of the operation and payment of several special districts' water and sewer functions. Levon Bedrosian is the department's administrator.</p> <p>Residents can also visit the building for Southeast Parking, where annual and semiannual parking permits can be purchased for the train station and the "Gold Lot."</p> <p>Fire Inspector Kenneth Clair is responsible for meeting the state's standard of yearly public inspections, as well as inspections of dangerous occupancies.</p>
