Brewster Theater Company to Debut 'City of Angels' Thursday

More than 70 actors, crew members and instrumentalists are coming together for the Brewster Theater Company's (BTC) summer musical—a show that organizers are confident will bring plenty of laughs.

City of Angels tells two stories. One focuses on a writer who is struggling to translate his novel into a screenplay, and the other on the film's main character.

"It's one of the smartest scripts out there," said Director Christopher Gladysz, who's been with the BTC for years. "...I like it because it's so funny. It's a smart comedy."

The show features lots of scenery. There's tons of jazzy music, too, a favorite for Producer Melinda Montanaro.

Rehearsals began in May, and all along, the energy's been great.

"The nice thing is we always end up with a really good group of people, and we end up laughing way too much," Gladysz said.
