Author Joe Hurley chronicles his coast-to-coast walk on Route 6 in his new book, "Ten Million Steps on Route 6: A fresh look at America and Americans from Cape Cod to California." Hurley describes the various stops he made , as well as the people he met and those who cheered him on as he made his way across the country. Photographer Travis Lindhorst followed Hurley by car and captured the beauty that they discovered during this journey which took place from March through December 2004.
