Stolen Texas Taco Sign Recovered After Owner Spots Item in Pickup Truck

A 69-year-old Purdys man is accused of stealing Rosemary's Texas Taco memorabilia from the Patterson Flea Market, authorities say.

The complainant tipped off police Monday afternoon when he spotted the items in the back of a pickup truck on a local roadway. State troopers from the Southeast barracks stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Doansburg Road and Route 22.

Officials seized a cast-iron table, a sign bearing the restaurant's name and a tricycle. They are worth about $100, according to authorities.

Rosemary's Texas Taco on Route 22 in Patterson closed about eight months ago. Several of the items that decorated the local landmark were sold last month via this Facebook group.

The defendant is facing a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny. He was released pending a Sept. 5 appearance in Patterson Justice Court.
