Troopers Arrest Several on Impaired Driving Charges

The New York State Police provided the following information. It does not indicate any convictions.

Over the weekend, officials from the East Fishkill and  arrested:

  • Danbury, CT resident Rodrigo C. Neves, 32, around 2:10 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 84 (I-84) eastbound in Southeast. Neves is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated. He was issued an appearance ticket. 
  • Patterson resident Linda Cowan, 52, around 3:15 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Route 312 and Independence Way in Southeast. Police charged Cowan with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and four infractions: one count of unsafe turning/failure to signal, one count of moving from lane unsafely, one count of equipment violations and one count of third-degree facilitating aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. She was issued an appearance ticket. 
  • Sandy Hook, CT resident Andrew M. Husvar, 22, around 4:10 a.m. Saturday on I-84 eastbound in Southeast. Husvar is facing the following charges: first-degree operation of a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was issued an appearance ticket. 
  • Danbury, CT resident Jose N. Ortega, 42, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. Ortega is facing a misdemeanor driving-while-intoxicated charge, as well as the following infractions: inadequate plate lamp, unsafe tires, an equipment violation and refusal to take a breath test. He was placed on cash bail.
  • Ridgefield, CT resident Gregory K. Nelson, 32, around 5:50 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Route 6 and Argonne Road in Southeast. Officials charged Nelson with three misdemeanors: third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol. Police also charged Nelson with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was issued an appearance ticket.
