This month marks 30 years in business for North Brewster Deli.
Owner Sal Zuccaro hosted a barbecue celebration at the store this weekend, and scores of people attended.
"It was fun," he said. "We had a great time."
Zuccaro worked in the food industry before he opened up shop three decades ago at 278 North Brewster Road in Southeast. His deli specializes in Italian products, including homemade fresh mozzarella and sausage.
"I think they key to success is that we treat people with honestly," he said when asked what's allowed him to stay in business for so long. "We know everybody's name, we have good relationships and friendships."
Zuccaro, whose three daughters work at the shop, said he looks forward to chatting with local folks who come in for coffee or a signature chicken cutlet sandwich each day. He thanked all the folks who shop at the deli for the business.
"We do have the greatest customers in the world," he said.
