Westchester Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge

The district attorney's office has confirmed that Theresa Gorski Howson, allegedly strangled by her husband, died on Wednesday.

Theresa Gorski Howson, of Tarrytown, has died following four days on life support at Phelps Memorial Hospital, reports Lucian Chalfen, spokesperson for the Westchester District Attorney's office.

Newsday first published an unconfirmed report Wednesday that Howson's relatives decided to pull the plug just after 2 p.m. that afternoon when doctors made it clear she would not survive her injuries.

Howson was rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning when her husband Christopher called 911 after a domestic dispute. She was unconscious and did not respond to CPR attempts at the scene.

Christopher Howson, 49, has since appeared in Village Court, albeit briefly, to receive a one-week delay in his felony hearing on charges of attempted murder and strangulation.

Howson is being held without bail at Westchester County Jail.

The Westchester County Medical Examiner's office told Patch "this office is not giving out any information whatsoever about the case," saying the case has been referred to the District Attorney's office.

Chalfen said Monday's Vilage Court date is on and "any possible upgrade of [Howson's] charge is still pending."

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
